Man Charged With Assault to Murder After Reported Threats

A 50-year-old Danvers man was arrested at his home on several assault charges, following a report of threats in a domestic situation.

A Danvers man was arrested at his home Thursday night on a slew of charges, including attempted murder, following a domestic incident.

John Cashman, 50, of 77 Dayton St., Danvers, was taken into custody at approximately 11:15 p.m. Officer Christopher Gaffney responded to a report of threats of a domestic nature, according to a police log entry.

Cashman was charged with two counts of assault to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of improper storage of a firearm near a minor, domestic assault and battery and domestic assault.
