Today is Tuesday, Dec. 17. Here are five things to know today in Danvers.

  1. Congrats are in order for Patrick Daly at Monster Mini Golf of Danvers. The Route 1 establishment says thanks go to its newest store manager for putting his "mad scientists" to work and launching the facility into the No. 2 spot out of 30 Monster Mini-Golf locations in the country.
  2. Want to learn about some baby basics? Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates is partnering with Babies R Us on Route 114 in Peabody to offer free parenting classes and will be holding an hour long session Tuesday morning.
  3. The Board of Selectmen meets Tuesday, first for an executive session at 6 p.m. and the regular meeting at 7 p.m. The Preservation Commission meeting Tuesday was canceled.
  4. Stop down to Goodies Ice Cream Sunday for a sundae with Mrs. Claus. There will be fresh baked cookies and hot cocoa as well. Once Mrs. Kringle arrives, there will be a reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas," Itty-Bitty Sundaes and more. Space is limited so call Goodies at 978-763-4663 to reserve your ticket.
  5. There will be a festival of Christmas lessons and carols Sunday at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church.
  6. Admission deadlines: If you're planning on enrolling your child(ren) at a local private high school, the admission deadlines are fast approaching. St. John’s Prep, St. Mary’s of Lynn and Bishop Fenwick are all Dec. 20, Nazareth Academy is Jan. 6 and Pingree and Phillips Academy are both Jan. 15.
