New Danvers Restaurant Opening After Coronavirus Delay
The TaVern at 156 Restaurant & Bar had planned to open in mid-March. Then coronavirus happened.
DANVERS, MA — A Danvers restaurant that had planned to open in mid-March, and then had that opening delayed by the coronavirus crisis, will finally open this week.
The TaVern at 156 Restaurant & Bar said in a Facebook post that it would begin offering takeout service on Wednesday and begin full service when the state lifts its ban on indoor dining at restaurants. The new restaurant will take over a vacant Papa Gino's store and takes its name from its 156 Andover Street address.
Earlier this year, the restaurant said it planned to open no later than mid-March. The restaurant had originally said it would open last fall. "Everyone is working very hard to get us up and opening," the restaurant, which will serve new American cuisine, said on a Facebook post at the time. "We are going to have an amazing Tavern where everyone will be welcome to enjoy our awesome food and cocktails!!"
