Obituary: Barbara M. Hames, Longtime Member of the Telephone Pioneers of America

She had a sense of luck and won on her very first try at her games of chance.

Barbara M. Hames, 83, of Danvers, passed away August 17, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Ellen (Lund) Hames. She was raised and educated in Revere where she attended the Paul Revere Innovation School.

Miss. Hames had been employed with the New England Telephone Company where she spent 30 years working as a telephone switch board operator retiring in 1983. She was a long time member of the becoming a Telephone Pioneers of America.

In her free time you could find Barbara crocheting or playing bingo. She had a sense of luck and won on her very first try at her games of chance. Barbara also loved to spend time with her sisters and nieces and enjoyed traveling with her family.

Barbara will always be remembers as a great sister, aunt and friend as she is survived by her loving twin sister Hilma Ingalls of Danvers along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Dorothy Fulk, Ruthie Carafa, Joanne Hames, Harry, Arthur, Robert :Bobby” and George Hames.
