The Parade of Trees Brought Holiday Cheer to Many

Danvers Historical Soc. Parade of Trees Made 48 Raffle Winners Happy

The glow of Christmas has come and gone at Tapley Hall, 13 Page St, Danvers with the drawing of raffle tickets on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 3rd for the 48 lucky winners of decorated trees and wreaths that made up the 11th Annual Parade of Trees. The success of this Historical Society fund raiser was all made possible by the businesses, families, clubs and organizations that donated the creatively decorated trees and wreaths.

The Parade of Trees started off with a preview party on Dec. 3rd, and what a party it was. With Darren Muise of the Music Connection gently playing seasonal tunes on the grand piano, folks gathered to admire and take chances on the trees and wreaths while feasting on the delicious food donated by Vinwood Caterers, wine supplied by Merchants Liquors, and Newburyport Brewing Co. supplier of numerous types of brew. It was a great way to start the holiday season. Each day held a special event including a Trio from Reflections Classic Rock Band, Eddie of Magic For All Ages, a performance from North Shore Dance Academy done by 20 very energetic young dancers, and a Polar Express reading complete with cocoa and cookies.

No event of this size would be possible without corporate sponsors. The Historical Society greatly appreciated the generous support of the North Shore Dance Academy. Thank you also to the other top sponsors: Aberdeen Health Care, IRA Toyota, Lahey Outpatient Center, Seaboard Products, Gienapp Design, and John M. Ross & Son. Support from Brightview Senior Living, People’s United Bank and others was also greatly appreciated. Without them and the help of dedicated volunteers, it would not have been the success that it was.
