Police Arrest 5 Shoplifters, Several Additional Thefts Reported

The following information was provided by the Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following excerpts are from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from Dec. 25-29.

Wednesday, Dec. 25

  • 9:25 p.m. Report of drug activity at a Holten Street apartment. A resident said there was an odor coming upstairs. An officer gave some legal advice.
  • 10:07 p.m. An officer conducted a well being check at the EconoLodge on Endicott Street following a report of possible drug activity.
  • 11:49 p.m. Report of a car break-in at TGI Friday's on Route 1.

Thursday, Dec. 26

  • 11:11 a.m. Report of a larceny at the Dollar Tree store on Route 1.
  • 1:22 p.m. Report of a domestic assault at a Garden Street apartment.
  • 7:57 p.m. Report of an intoxicated person on Route 114 near Route 1. Police searched the area, but didn't find anyone.
  • 9:32 p.m. Thanat Saklertrattanakh, 42, of Ashland, was arrested on a charge of unlicensed operation, following a motor vehicle stop at the corner of Maple Street and Hollis Road.
  • 10:55 p.m. Report of a larceny at the Shell gas station on Endicott Street. Police said some aspirin was stolen.

Friday, Dec. 27

  • 8:07 a.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 114. One person complained of shoulder pain.
  • 12:23 p.m. Report of a hit-and-run accident on Route 114.
  • 12:40 p.m. Omar Ali, 57, of Savannah, Ga., was arrested, following a report of a shoplifter at Target. He was charged with larceny over $250.
  • 5:35 p.m. Janet Rijo, 46, of 35 Mill St., Beverly, was arrested, following a report of a shoplifter at Kohl's. She was charged with larceny over $250.
  • 5:57 p.m. Michael Cipoletti, 50, of 62 Mason St., Salem, was arrested, following a report of a shoplifter at Walmart. He was charged with shoplifting by asportation (second offense).
  • 6:27 p.m. Report of a hit-and-run accident outside Market Basket.
  • 6:31 p.m. Report of the theft of a cell phone at Lahey Health Behavioral Services on Middleton Road.
  • 10:19 p.m. Thomas Kearney, 33, of 82 President St., Lynn, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 114 at Route 1. He was charged with driving with a license suspended for OUI.
  • 11:11 p.m. Zakary Bettencourt, 22, of 71 Endicott St., Peabody, and John Mannion, 28, of 6 North Central Ct., Peabody, were both arrested after a report of a domestic dispute at a Poplar Street home. Bettencourt was charged with disorderly conduct and Mannion was charged with driving with a suspended license (subsequent offense).

Saturday, Dec. 28

  • 12:11 a.m. Report of a larceny at Buffalo Wild Wings. An employee said a customer didn't pay the bill.
  • 1:45 a.m. Michael Hughes, 35, of Quincy, was arrested, following a report of a violation of a restraining order at a Mill Street apartment. He was charged on a warrant. A 34-year-old Danvers man was also placed in protective custody.
  • 9:14 a.m. A Lafayette Avenue resident reported a case of identity theft.
  • 4:05 p.m. David Maniates, 18, of 3 Sunnybrook Lane, Peabody, and Mario Cleve-Molleta, 19, of Framingham, were both arrested, following a report of shoplifters at Walmart. Both teens were charged with shoplifting by asportation.
  • 8:31 p.m. Report of a shoplifting at Walmart.
  • 8:31 p.m. Report of a car break-in outside Michael's at the Liberty Tree Mall.
  • 8:34 p.m. Cameron McNeil, 26, of 156 Elliott St., Danvers, was arrested at Motel 6 on an outstanding warrant.
  • 11:15 p.m. Mark Curtis, 52, of 16 Ash St., Danvers, was arrested at his home on an outstanding warrant.
  • 11:30 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 114. State police handled the accident.
  • 11:36 p.m. Report of a larceny from a vehicle on Burley Avenue. A front license plate was stolen.

Sunday, Dec. 29

  • 1:44 a.m. Bryant Adrien, 26, of Salisbury, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 114 near McDonald's. He was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and defective equipment violations.
  • 2:45 a.m. Michael Galante, 29, of 215 Western Ave., Lynn, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 114. He was charged with driving with a suspended license and a rejected inspection sticker.
  • 3:27 a.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle at the Peabody line near Water Street -- a yellow SUV was riding on two rims. Police checked the area, but didn't find anything.
  • 7:14 a.m. Atiba Howard, 29, of 501 Washington St. #414, Lynn, was arrested at Motel 6 on a warrant.
  • 10:49 a.m. Michael Jablonski, 52, of 10 Bridge St., Danvers, was arrested, following a report of a domestic dispute at his residence. He was charged with domestic assault and battery.
  • 3:19 p.m. Report of a shoplifting at Walmart.
  • 3:19 p.m. Report of a clerk arguing with a customer at the Gulf gas station at 425 Newbury St. over fraud.
  • 4:07 p.m. Report of a shoplifting at Claire's Boutique.
