Route 1 Ramp In Danvers To Close For 3 Days

DANVERS, MA — The ramp connecting Route 114 westbound and Route 1 southbound in Danvers will be closed during the daytime hours for the remainder of the work week for resurfacing.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said the ramp will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Traffic will be detoured to Route 1 northbound where direction can be reversed at the Centre Street interchange. Travelers will see signs, traffic control devices, detours and police details as guidance in the work zone.

Drivers are encouraged to reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone.

The work is being conducted as part of a private access permit project to reconstruct and realign the on-ramp and off-ramp to I-495 northbound at exit 54 (Route 150) in Amesbury.

The overall project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2021.
