Route 128 Stage 3 Bridge Replacement Begins Tuesday Night
Travel lanes on Route 128 southbound and northbound between Danvers and Peabody will be temporarily closed overnights.

DANVERS, MA — The next stage of the Waters River bridge replacement project on Route 128 between Peabody and Danvers will begin Tuesday night.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said the work will begin Tuesday night at 6 p.m. and continue through 5 a.m. Friday morning. Stage 3 of the project includes delivery and placement of bridge beam in the median section.
The work will require temporary lane closures on both Route 128 northbound and southbound. The Route 128 on-ramp from Endicott Street will also be detoured.

Drivers taking Route 128 southbound from Endicott westbound will be detoured to Route 114, while drivers on Endicott eastbound to Route 128 southbound will be detoured to Route 128 northbound where they can reverse direction at the High Street exit.
Short-term rolling roadblocks will be in place starting at 8 p.m.

Detour signs, traffic control devices and police details will be used to guide drivers through the work zone.
