Snow In Danvers: What To Know, School's Closed
Here's what you need to know about what the storm may bring to Danvers tonight and tomorrow.

DANVERS, MA —The National Weather Service issued a winter storm advisory across the state until 1 p.m. Thursday across the state, including in Danvers. Wind gusts are expected to get up to 47 miles per hour, too. So be prepared for possible power outages. Officials were asking folks to stay inside and keep warm, where possible. And that's possible for Danvers students, since Thursday morning schools announced they were canceling on account of the snow.
What? Snow? Yep. The white stuff is expected to accumulate in the range of 1 to 2 inches in town Wednesday night starting sometime after 9 p.m. and continuing into Thursday afternoon. By the time you wake up there could be between 4 and 8 inches of snow on the ground around town.
Thursday will bring another inch of snow and then some rain and more wind, according to the National Weather Service.

As of Wednesday evening, Danvers Public schools were scheduled to open as normal on Thursday morning, but Plumfield Academy on Dayton Street had canceled school and North Shore Community Campus announced it will be closed for day classes Thursday, March 8 due to inclement weather. All administrative offices and college services will be closed. NSCC currently plans to open for evening classes only beginning at 5 p.m. But by Thursday morning Danvers Public Schools had called it: No school Thursday.

So far there is no parking ban planned for tomorrow.
Generally, the Department of Public Services Director will call a "snow emergency" when excessive amounts of snow are predicted. All vehicles are required to be removed from all roadways to allow for a better clearing job. All vehicles left on the road are subject to tow.
Please use caution and common sense with today's storm. Give our DPW workers enough space to safely get their jobs done. https://t.co/3NYsztYqB3
