Christmas is coming and the Danvers Historical Society is going to be having their Parade of Trees Festival for the 12th year. Due to Covid 19, things will run a bit differently than in the past in order to strive to keep everyone safe but the holiday spirit will still be there. Isn't that something everyone can use after all these months? The event will run from Dec. 1st to Dec. 6th.

These unusual times caused the committee to get off to a late start but with community help, Tapley Memorial Hall should fill up with decorated trees and wreaths. Individuals, organizations, and businesses are urged to donate a tree or wreath. These will be set up in the hall between Monday, Nov. 23rd and Wednesday, Nov. 25th. Appointments will be arranged ahead of time to limit the number of folks in the hall at one time setting up. For more information call the Society at 978 777 1666 or visit https://www.danvershistory.org...

Folks will be able to view the donated items, entertainment, and sponsor ads on line as well as in person at the Hall but they will have to select a viewing time on line prior to their visit. The event is free but the greatest fun comes from putting ones raffle tickets in their favorite entries and hoping to be a lucky winner. Details are still being worked out but folks will get 10 raffle tickets for each $10 donation made on line, $20 gets 25 tickets. Ten guests will be allowed in the hall each half hour. Details will be on the Society web site as they are worked out so check back often and if you feel creative, donate a tree or wreath. It will be a fun family event during these unusual times.
