Summer Jobs Available In Danvers

The town is looking for seasonal employees for Recreation camps, Public Works and at Endicott Park.


DANVERS, MA — If you're looking for summer work in Danvers there is a good chance the town is looking for you.

Danvers is advertising several seasonal positions, including those with the Recreation Department, the Department of Public Works and at Endicott Park.

The Recreation Department is looking for summer camp counselors.

Counselors oversee camp participant safety and lead games, activities and crafts for elementary school-age campers. Qualified applicants must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR certification.

Jobs run 16 to 40 hours per week and pay $13.50 to $16.50 per hour. These are not benefits positions.

The Department of Public Works is looking for 14-week positions performing general labor work in the buildings, grounds, streets and water divisions..

Duties in the Buildings Division include routine custodial work; duties in the Grounds Division include landscaping work such as weed whacking, mowing; duties in the Streets Division include filling potholes and street sign maintenance; duties in the Water Division include assisting the Water Distribution crew on routine repairs and maintenance.

Qualified applications must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school or a trade school. A MA Hoisting 2A license is preferred but not required, and there must be a basic familiarity with hammers, shovels power saws.

Danvers also seeks a seasonal park ranger at Endicott Park. The park ranger is responsible for animal care, assisting the program coordinator with educational presentations, performing barn chores, landscaping, flower bed maintenance and general monitoring of the park.

Qualified applications must be 18 years old, and graduated from high school, trade school or have an equivalent degree. An associate's degree in horticulture, urban forestry or environmental science is preferred. A current CPR certification or the ability to obtain one and a driver's license is required.

The position is 32 to 40 hours per week May through September at $15 to $17.50 per hour, and 16 to 19 hours per week during the offseason, with some 40-hour weeks possible.
