Danvers Power Restored, No Accidents Reported: Police

A large power outage interfered with traffic lights around town on Thursday.

DANVERS, MA – Danvers Police posted a warning to drivers on Thursday around 11 a.m.: A power outage was causing the traffic lights along Endicott Street and at other town intersections to malfunction. Power has since been restored, and Danvers Police report no known accidents at the malfunctioning intersections.

According to police, the power outage affected traffic lights, businesses and residences. Danvers Police had asked that people not call 911 to report the outage. Danvers Electric restored power by roughly 1 p.m.

The cause of the power outage is unclear.
