Two Danvers Bars Avoid Liquor License Suspensions
The Osborn Tavern, however, could have its license suspended three days if it has any more violations within the next year.
DANVERS, MA — Selectmen voted to suspend the Osborn Tavern's liquor license for three days, but will hold the suspension in abeyance for one year. If the Osborne Tavern has no more liquor license violations in the year, the suspension will be waived. The board also voted against suspending the liquor license of Breakaway after the bar's manager said it tried to eject a patron that had become unruly and led to the complaint against the Newbury Street bar.
Police said the Osborn Tavern over-served three women on Aug. 30, including one who was pulled over as she tried to drive away from the Maple Street establishment. Last week's suspension was the fourth against the Osborn Tavern since last year, but the bar's owner successfully appealed two of those suspensions.
