Vigil for Newtown Elementary Victims Tonight in Beverly

In the wake of the Newtown, Conn. shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, a moment of silence is planned at Beverly Common on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Danvers Patch has not learned of any similar event in Danvers, but if one is organized we will bring you the details.

"Meet on the Beverly commons, BYOC..bring your own candle. No talk, just try to meet up at 6:30, flick on a few lights, and disperse. If you aren't in Beverly, and want or need to be there, be there in spirit," the event says on Facebook.

The event will be held until 6:50 p.m.
