Young Musicians to Hold Concert in Danvers
Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras hold a concert in Danvers on Sunday, March 5.
DANVERS, MA – The area's finest young musicians and Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras will hold a free community concert featuring 15 of the orchestras' string, woodwind, brass, saxophone, and percussion chamber ensembles.
The concert, on March 5, at 3 p.m., at the Maple Street Church in Danvers, will include music by composers like Sibelius, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, and Bach.
NMYO Symphony Orchestra musicians, select members of Intermezzo Orchestra, and a quartet of saxophonists from the Wind Ensemble participate in an eight-week chamber music program during which they are placed into small ensembles and coached by visiting professional musicians.

These NMYO chamber groups will also perform in outreach concerts at various nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the region in late March as part of NMYO’s community service program, Youth Serving Through Music.

Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. All NMYO concerts are family-friendly, and are a great way to expose children to chamber music in a comfortable setting while supporting the musical training of the area’s young musicians.
