5 Things to Know: May 17, Community Hero Storytime, Teen Science Club and More

Today's Weather: Today will be sunny, with a high near 71.  For tonight, clear skies with a low around 45, according to The National Weather Service.

1. Whole Foods Market, 300 Legacy Pl. in Dedham, will have a free Stories and Snacks event at 10:30 a.m.  Kids of all ages are welcome.

2. PathFinders, 269 Common St. in Dedham, will have their Teen Science Club at 5 p.m.  The club costs $40 to join.

3. The Dedham Community House, 671 High St. in Dedham will have a Boot Camp: Karate for Beginners class at 5:30 p.m.  The class costs $102 to join.

4. The Blue Bunny, 577 High St. in Dedham, and Catching Joy will be hosting a bedtime storytime for kids of all ages.  Children will hear stories about community helpers, and will be making cards for police, firefighters, doctors, nurses, and military. You can even dress like your favorite community hero if you want!

5. And the Laughing Boy will be performing a free concert at Paradise Cafe, 565 High St. in Dedham, at 8 p.m.
