Grant funding is available
Dedham small business owners are eligible for grants up to $10,000 to redress business losses caused by the pandemic. This federal funding is meant to assist microenterprises owned by Dedham residents. These are grants, not loans.

Who can apply?
Only microenterprises are eligible, meaning:
- for-profit business entities,
- with 5 employees or fewer, and
- owned by one or more of the employees.
The business must be located in Dedham or another participating municipality. (See the list of towns below.)
Eligibility is limited by household income. (See more information online.) Applications from Woman, Minority, Veteran, LGBTQ and Disability-Owned Businesses will receive priority.
Who cannot apply?
Certain businesses are excluded: real estate rental or sales firms, businesses owned by persons under age 18, franchises, liquor stores, firearms dealers, lobbyists, or cannabis-related businesses.
When can I apply?
Start now. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m., Friday, September 25.

When will grants be available?
Grants should be distributed in October. Eligible applicants will be entered into a lottery and grants awarded until funding is expended. Dedham was allotted $280,500 in federal funding for this program.
What if I don’t live in Dedham?
Funds are available to any eligible microenterprise owner who lives in—and operate a business in—any of the 23 municipalities listed below.
Participating towns
Beverly, Burlington, Canton, Concord, Dedham, Essex, Lexington, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Marlborough, Melrose, Milton, Natick, North Reading, Norwood, Randolph, Reading, Sharon, Southborough, Stoneham, Watertown, Winchester and Woburn.
