Blue Hills Hopes to Collaborate with Dedham Residents to Help Protect Reservation
Friends of the Blue Hills is hoping to get more Dedham residents involved in and will hold a family event at Merrell in Legacy Place on Aug. 15.

Next year Friends of the Blue Hills will celebrate 35 years of ensuring safe trail and protecting habitats such as Fowl Meadow. The organization also set the goal to get 350 new members in Dedham.
“Joining Friends of the Blue Hills is a great opportunity for people to give back to the park that offers us so much,” Judy Lehrer Jacobs, the executive director of FBH said. “While all of us enjoy the park for free, protecting and maintaining the park takes resources. We hope people who visit the park will join us to make sure the Blue Hills Reservation is there for all of us to enjoy for generations to come.”
On Aug. 15, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friends of the Blue Hills will be partnering with Merrell in Legacy Place to explain more information about the organization and encourage Dedham residents to get involved.
The event will also feature craft activities for children, prizes and trivia games about Dedham. Merrell was very happy to work with Blue Hills to help raise awareness on caring for the outdoors.
“At Merrell, it is our goal to get more people outside, actively participating in and protecting the outdoors that gives back so much to us,” said Brian Cousins of Wolverine Worldwide Retail Group said.
