Dedham Opens Football Postseason At Old Rochester Friday

The Marauders will open the postseason by taking on second-seeded Old Rochester.

DEDHAM, MA — Dedham High School's football team, which finished the regular season at 4-3, was seeded seventh in the MIAA's Division 6 South playoffs. The Marauders will open the eight-team tournament Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. at second-seeded Old Rochester (6-1).

If the Marauders wins Friday's game, they will advance to play the winner of Rockland (5-2) vs. Cardinal Spellman (5-2) on either Nov. 3 or 4 at a time to be announced after the opening round is complete.

The MIAA switched to a playoff format in 2013. The state semi-finals are scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 17 and 18, with state championship games scheduled for Dec. 2 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. For more on the state football tournament, see the MIAA football Website.
