Dedham-Westwood Water District Rates Increase
The Dedham-Westwood Water District Commissioners approved a 2.9 percent water rate increase in January.
DEDHAM, MA — Customers of the Dedham-Westwood Water District will notice an increase in their next bill as a 2.9 percent rate increase was approved to begin on March 1.
The water district said bill rate increases can be caused by several factors including expenses of labor, electricity, treatment chemicals, employee health care, investment in replacement water mains, service lines, meters, tanks, pumps, and other water works equipment as well as pension and retirement health care costs.
According to the water district, the average residential customer uses 61,528 gallons annually and their water bill will rise from $481.00 to $495.00 annually.
