Man Wielding 3 Knives Stabbed Officer: Dedham Police
The man dropped two knives that the officers could see but lunged and stabbed an officer who tried to approach him, according to police.

DEDHAM, MA — A 46-year-old Dedham man was arrested Tuesday after police said he stabbed am officer in the chest.
Police were called to a home on Park Street after a report of a noise coming from the home. When officers got there they found a man in hospital pants wandering through the yard, according to police. The man was holding two knives that police could see, and when he was asked to drop them, he complied, according to police.
While an officer tried to help the man off the porch, the man lunged at the officer and stabbed him in the chest with a third knife that police didn't see, according to police. Another officer used a stun gun to get the man off of the officer and handcuff him, police said.

The officer was wearing body armor that prevented the knife from injuring him.
The man was taken to the hospital for evaluation and charged with armed assault with intent to murder, breaking and entering with intent to commit a misdemeanor and possession of burglarious instruments.
