A Near Drowning Has Dedham Public Schools Offering Counselors

Counselors are available to students after a near drowning leaves a 17-Year-Old boy with serious injuries.

DEDHAM, MA — Dedham Public Schools are offering counselors to students Monday following an incident that left a 17-year-old boy with serious injuries after nearly drowning in a backyard pool at a graduation party Sunday.

Police responded to the house on Netta Road around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning after receiving several calls about a near drowning.

The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation by Dedham police, who reported Sunday that the teenager was at a Boston hospital being treated for unspecified serious injuries according to the Boston Globe.

Police did not have an update on their investigation or the teenager's condition Monday morning.

Counseling is being made available to members of the Class of 2021 this morning, officials said.
