Nor'easter Prompts Dedham Snow Emergency, School Half-Day
Well over a foot of snow is expected to fall in Massachusetts over the next 36 hours.

DEDHAM, MA — Dedham is bracing for the incoming nor'easter to throw a blanket of snow over the town and declared a snow emergency on Monday.
The snow emergency begins at 12 p.m. and lasts until 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Under the snow emergency, residents with driveways are expected to use them instead of parking cars on the street. Except where otherwise posted, residents without driveways should park on the even side of the street during the even-numbered months, and on the odd side of the street during the odd- numbered months. No parking on sidewalks.
This month, residents should park on the even-numbered side of the street during the emergency.

The following streets prohibit on-street nighttime parking:
- East Street (High St to Rte. 128)
- Common Street
- East Dedham Square
- Milton Street
- Court Street
- Oakdale Square
- Needham Street
- Sanderson Ave.
- High Street
- Dedham Square
- Bussey Street
- Ames Street
- Sprague Street
- Washington Street (Dedham to Westwood line)
The National Weather Service is forecasting 7-15 inches of wet, heavy snow, with the coast and Cape and Islands receiving just a coating. A winter storm warning is in effect throughout the state.

Dedham Public Schools already reacted to the storm, implementing a half-day on Monday, including for remote learning students. After school activities were canceled. Here is the schedule for school dismissals on Monday:
- Dedham High School will dismiss at 11:10 a.m.
- Dedham Middle School will dismiss at 11:35 a.m.
- ECEC PreSchool will dismiss at 11:40 a.m.
