Oakdale Square Alliance Hosts 10th Annual “LIGHT THE NIGHT” Event
Civic Group's Free Holiday Tree Lighting & Kids Holiday Fest Event Once Again Brightened the Season
DEDHAM, MA - On Saturday evening Oakdale Square Alliance held its tenth annual Light the Night! Holiday Celebration & Tree Lighting. The free, family-friendly holiday event kicked off at 4:00pm inside the charming 143-year old Church of the Good Shepherd at 62 Cedar Street. The festivities featured the ceremonial lighting of the holiday tree on the Oakdale Square Common, caroling, festive music, children’s gingerbread decorating activity, complimentary hot chocolate & coffee, and baked treats.
Santa Claus also made a special visit to greet all good boys and girls. After the meet & greet and photos, the crowd made its way across to the Oakdale Square Common for more caroling and the much-anticipated countdown for the the tree lighting.
The Light the Night event was once again made possible by the generosity of lead sponsor Dedham Savings, and contributing sponsors Blue Bunny Books & Mocha Java. Participants were encouraged to bring a donation to the Dedham Food Pantry.
Founded in 2010, the Oakdale Square Alliance was formed to promote, enhance, strengthen and improve the economic vitality, visual appearance and character, cultural and historic resources, accessibility, and overall quality of life in Oakdale Square.
