Obituary: Jean Heppler, 54, of Dedham

She was the mother of Haillie Johnson of Dedham.

Jean P. “Jeannie” Heppler of Dedham, formerly of Needham, died suddenly on Friday night December 5 as a result of injuries sustained from being struck by a motor vehicle. She was 54 years old.

Born and raised in Needham, Jeannie was a Class of 1978 graduate of Needham High School. Jeannie lived in Dedham for the past 20 years. She was a former employee of GTE in Needham and most recently had worked locally as a cashier. Jeannie enjoyed a good game of Bingo.

She was the mother of Haillie Johnson of Dedham. The daughter of the late Anna E. “Betty” (Snyder) and A. Francis Heppler, Jeannie was the sister of John F. Heppler and his wife Rosemary of So. Easton, Robert C. Heppler of Ashburnham and the late James H. Heppler. Special friend of Kenny Gilchrist of Dedham. Aunt of Michael Heppler, Laurie LaPorte, Allison Heppler, Robert Heppler and the late Jeffrey Heppler. Also survived by Haillie’s father Jimmy Johnson of Dedham and Haillie’s grandmotehr Jackie “Nanny” Kohut of Dedham. Jeannie is also survived by her many, many friends and family in East Dedham.

Her funeral will be held from the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave in Needham on Friday, Dec. 12 at 8 a.m. followed by A Mass of Christian Burial in St. Susanna’s Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Interment is private.
