Taste of Dedham Adds Many New Features

Fresh cuisines, a celebrity cook-off, swag bags and a raffle will all be part of this year’s Taste of Dedham on Thursday, Oct. 24.

The annual event will run from 6:30pm-9pm at Moseley’s on the Charles, located at 50 Bridge Street in Dedham.

This year, 31 restaurants from all over the Dedham area will participate, the most ever at the Taste of Dedham, according to event organizer Carol A. O'Connor.

Guests will receive swag bags, can participate in a raffle, and special Silent Auction table.

O'Connor said this is the first time there will be a silent auction, which is different from the live auction they had last year.

Silent auction items include an autographed Red Sox ball, an autographed football signed by Logan Mankins of the New England Patriots, a night for two at the Boston Harbor Hotel and a weekend stay at the Fairfield Inn in Dedham.

The event will also feature a celebrity cook-off between Italian chefs Vinny Marino,  chef and owner of The Brickhouse Café and Joe Musto, chef and owner of Vincenzo’s Italian Deli.

"To see what they will make will be exciting," said O'Connor.

Proceeds from this culinary event benefit the programs and services the Dedham Rotary Club supports: College Scholarships to two Dedham residents, Youth Sports, Dedham Police and Fire Department, Dedham seniors, enrichment programs for families in Dedham, The Dedham Food Pantry, and other community needs as well as International Charities: Habitat for Humanity.

Tickets are $30 to taste the very best foods from 31 Dedham restaurants.
