DEDHAM - The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that it will be implementing temporary daytime lane closures along a section of Bridge Street in Dedham. The closures are scheduled to begin on Wednesday June 9, and will take place weekdays until Wednesday June 16, during daytime hours from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The closures and the extended hours are necessary to facilitate and accelerate the paving operations on Bridge Street. Traffic management will be managed by police details.  One lane with alternating traffic will remain open during construction operations. Both lanes will be re-opened to vehicular travel at the end of each workday.

MassDOT encourages drivers to reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through or around the work zones and to allow for extra time through this area.

All work is weather dependent and is subject to change without notice.

For information on traffic conditions, travelers are encouraged to:

  • Dial 511 before heading out onto the roadways and select a route to hear real-time conditions.
  • Visit www.mass511.com, a website that provides real-time traffic and incident advisory information, access to traffic cameras, and allows users to subscribe to text and email alerts for traffic conditions.
  • Follow MassDOT on Twitter @MassDOT to receive regular updates on road and traffic conditions.
  • Download MassDOT’s GoTime mobile app and view real-time traffic conditions before setting out on the road
