Dover Sees First 3 New Coronavirus Cases In Two Months
The last time Dover had a confirmed case was on May 29.
DOVER, MA — Dover officials announced on Tuesday that the town had found first positive cases of COVID-19 in two months. The town now has three positive cases of the virus — the last time a test came back positive in Dover was on May 29.
Dover's Board of Health said it was concerned about two very risky activities: attending parties and traveling to Massachusetts from states with high COVID-19 rates. Parties are frequently the source of clusters of COVID-19 cases, including for people in Dover, the BOH said. Even small parties, with less than 25 attendees, are risky because party-goers tend not to use face coverings or follow the rules of social distancing.
The board stressed maintaining social distancing, wearing masks and avoiding events or places with crowds of people. The board also highlighted Governor Baker's new travel order that requires all visitors and returning residents to complete a “Massachusetts Traveler Form” unless they are coming from a state that has been designated a lower risk COVID-19 state or fall into an exemption category.
