Driver, Victim In Fatal Sherborn Crash Identified

SHERBORN, MA — The driver and victim from Wednesday's fatal crash in Sherborn were identified by Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan's Office.

The driver was identified as Joshua M. Patel, 37 of Mansfield, and he was arraigned on Thursday. The victim was identified as Kevin Sullivan, 40 of Sherborn.

Patel was speeding down Goulding Street East on Wednesday afternoon when he lost control of his SUV, hitting Sullivan who was standing on his front lawn. Patel continued driving and hit a car before coming to a stop.

Patel tried to run from the scene, according to the DA's office, hitting a witness before other witnesses held him down. When the officers arrived, the DA's office said Patel was uncooperative and showing signs of impairment.

Patel is facing charges of motor vehicle homicide by operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, assault and battery, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and a mark lanes violation
