Golden Girl Scouts: New Girl Scout Award Plaque at Sherborn Library

Plaque dedicated to the highest honor in Girl Scouts now hangs at the local library.

The highest honor in the Girl Scouts is the Gold Award, and that honor is now commemorated in the Sherborn Library.

A new plaque unveiled in the library's Community Room at the end of last month honors local girl scouts who have earned the Girl Scouts Gold Award, an award given to scouts who do something to improve their corner of the community. Each project goes through a seven-step process, including formal approval.

Local troops were surveyed about an appropriate location for the plaque. According to a press release from the library trustees, the Library was chosen because so many troops have called it home throughout the years.

Past and present recipients are honored on the plaque, and future Girl Scouts who complete their projects will have their names added to the list.
