GRAFTON, MA — Grafton's Laura Often was named a 2020 Commonwealth Heroine. Often is the Chair of the Grafton School Committee and serves as a volunteer in several organizations. She was recommended by State Rep. David Muradian.
The annual Commonwealth Heroines celebration recognizes women from across the state who "perform unheralded acts daily that make our homes, neighborhoods, cities and towns better places to live." State legislators are responsible for recommending women within their districts for the honor.
Often has served on the North Grafton Elementary School Parent Teacher Group, as a Walking Wednesday’s volunteer coordinator and as a Girl Scouts co-leader.

"Laura makes herself available to anyone who might need her personal attention," the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women, which gives out the honor, wrote, "Her ability to manage the operations of multiple committees and boards, as well as be a rock-star mother and wife, prove Laura is a true Wonder Woman for the Town of Grafton and beyond."
