Two Sherborn Community Organizations Merge Together
After realizing the two groups had similar, community-driven goals, the Friends of the Sherborn Library and Social Club are coming together to provide local events and information for the town.

Two organizations, the Sherborn Social Club and the Friends of the Sherborn Library, will be merged starting this fall, according to hometownweekly.net.
Being around since the 60’s, the Sherborn Social Club, previously known as the Progressive Dinner Club, has become a charitable organization focusing on the social needs of Sherborn residents. The club serves to bring the community together, but struggling finances and filling positions on the Board made the Social Club reach out to the Friends of the Sherborn Library. Since the two have similar missions, why not join forces?
The remaining Club members wanted to show support for the Library’s Capital Campaign and proposals for renovations, in addition to encouraging residents of the town to view the library as a social center for residents of every age.Â

According to hometownweekly.net, the Friends will use the rest of the remaining funds in the Social Club to provide popular programs the Club used to put on such as book groups, events for children and bringing new people into the town for events.
In addition, the Friends will rebrand the Social Club’s Big Tent website, which provided residents with information regarding suggestions on local restaurants and information on local services and events.
