Sign Up for Girl Scouts at the Sherborn Library

For anyone who has been looking to get into Girl Scouting, there is no time like, well, next week.

The Sherborn Library is hosting a Girl Scouts of America sign-up event on Sept. 25, at the library's 4 Sanger St location. The event starts at 6 p.m., and there is a $25 membership fee for the 2013-2014 Scouting year. 

Earlier this year, a resident of Dover was appointed to the board of directors for the Girl Scouts of America. Paul Carbone, the board member, has two daughters who are active in the scouts.

There may be stiff competition for competitive cookie sellers. In 2012, Ava and Sophia Carbone sold 1201 boxes of cookies between them, raising $4,800.
