A bright, sunny day (like those earlier in the week) could spell free power, if you are up to the challenge.Â
The Sherborn Energy Committee (SEC) announced the Sherborn Energy Challenge--which runs until November 15. According to their announcement, the SEC has teamed up with SolarFlair, a Framingham-based company which specializes in installing roofs and ground-based solar panel arrays.
The goal of the challenge is, according to a release on Hometown Weekly, to reach 200kW of contracted capacity.Â
Sign up for a free assessment on the SolarFlair website.
You can sign up for a free site assessment, at the SolarFlair, or, you can call their designated Sales Rep, Mike Perkins: 508-808-4631. According to a story posted on Hometown Weekly, your house evaluated from their office and if it is viable, they will make a site visit and possibly a proposal.Â
For more information, see the FAQ posted on Hometown Weekly.
At the Solar 101 presentation which kicked off the challenge, SEC spokesperson Jane Pusch explained that SolarFlair was one of three installers that the committee considered. SolarFlair has run similar programs in Brookline, in Concord-Carlisle and in Newton, and is part of the Solarize Mass program. That presentation is currently available on YouTube.Â
The challenge kicked off with their Solar 101 presentation in August, and runs until November.Â
