MASK GUIDANCE
- Yesterday (5/13/2021) the CDC eased its guidance on mask-wearing for fully vaccinated people given the falling rate of new COVID-19 cases in the U.S. and the rising vaccination rate
- There are similarities between the CDC and Massachusetts guidelines, but they are not identical, and individual state guidance takes precedence
- The revised Massachusetts mask guidance of April 30, 2021 is the same for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals and states that masks are:
- Required at all times in indoor public places
- Required outdoors when people are unable to remain 6 feet from others who aren't members of their own households
- Required at all times at events, whether held indoors or outdoors and whether in public or private space, except when eating or drinking
- Recommended, but not required, at smaller gatherings in private homes
