The Legendary King Arthur Comes to Easton Stage
Award-winning theater company to present 'The Sword in the Stone' Nov. 21-23

“The Sword in the Stone,” a musical about the childhood of the legendary King Arthur, will be performed at the Easton Middle School on Columbus Avenue on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m.
The show will appeal to audiences of all ages, both adults and children. It is based on the story of Arthur growing up an orphan in the castle of Sir Ector. He is constantly taunted by his adopted sibling, Kay, and threatened by the evil queen Mab and Arthur’s half-sister, Morgan le Fay. The magician Merlin and his assistant, the beautiful young sorceress Nimue, use their magic to teach Arthur the things he will need to know. Then one day, during a fencing tournament, Arthur miraculously removes the magical sword from its stone, and becomes king of all England.
There are two casts in this production. Arthur is played by Nick Williams and Brendan Shanahan. TJ Clifford and Chris Galas play Merlin, Abby Hodges and Anna Vidoni appear as Nimue, Maria Aviles and Ashlyn Butler play Morgan le Fay, Remy MacInnis and Nate Flynn are Kay, and Hannah Clifford and Ella Connaughton play the evil Queen Mab. Other members of the cast include students from Easton and surrounding towns.
