Children's Races Returning to Easton

1. The Easton Recreation Children's Races will be held at Fromingtham Park Thursdays until Aug. 22 for ages two to 12  at 6 p.m.

2. The Massachusetts Senate approved a bill to allow residents to shop tax free on Aug. 10-11. Now, the bill has to be signed by Governor Deval Patrick.


3. The Easton Children's Museum is holding Summer Drop-In days Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. These days feature fun and educational events in the Wild Place, the museum's outdoor learning center. The museum is located in The Old Fire Station, 9 Sullivan Ave. in North Easton. Call 508-230-3789 for more information.

4.Easton’s Lantern Parade is coming back this August for the third year in a row. The event, which is scheduled for Aug. 17, will feature colorfully decorated lanterns lining the streets in the hands of their creators from the old railroad building (now the Easton Historical Society) to the back of the Ames Library.
