Driver Reports Hitting Pole

The following information was provided by the Easton Police Department. When charges are mentioned they do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, June 3

Suspicious Man (12:35 a.m.) - A woman called 911 after leaving The Stoneforge Grille. She said there was a suspicious car with Rhode Island plates in the parking lot and the male occupant was walking around the building. Officers were dispatched to check it out, and they saw the car but were unable to locate the man walking around outside.

Car Door Open (7:49 a.m.) - A caller from Welch Rd. reported a white sedan parked at the end of the street with it's driver's side door open. Officers arrived and were unable to locate the owner of the vehicle, so they secured the door.

Fraud (5:51 p.m.) -A person came into the station to report a larceny by fraud in the vicinity of Burger King. The amount was over $250.

Tuesday, June 4

Theft (7:55 a.m.) - Easton Police took a report on four pieces of stolen equipment on Eastman St.

Stolen Car Found (1:52 p.m.) - A Marshall Rd. caller reported an abandoned car in the road with damage. Officers were dispatched and called for a tow truck after believing the vehicle may have been stolen. Neighbors told officers that the car had been there for three days. Easton Police spoke with Brockton Police, who confirmed that the car had been reported stolen on May 19. Easton Police were to contact the owner of the car.

"I hit a pole" (5:56 p.m.) - A local resident reported that she was driving and struck a pole on Hemlock Ln. The pole fell down. No injuries were reported. The DPW was notified to remove the pole.

No Soliciting Permits (7:56 p.m.) - A caller in the vicinity of Calvin Rd. and Washington St. reports that two men said they were soliciting but they couldn't produce permits. They said they'd be back later and made threatening remarks. Officers were able to locate three males and found that they had no warrants. They advised the men.

Wants His Loan Back (10:00 p.m.) - A resident came into the police station stating that a man who had loaned him money over the years had been calling because he wants his money back.
