The Easton Council on Aging has developed a new program, that we are really excited about, called the Friendly Caller Program. Loneliness and social isolation are more prevalent than ever right now throughout the senior population, and we believe this program will provide support to those that need it most.
The purpose of this program is to spread positivity and decrease feelings of loneliness. This will be especially important this holiday season!
Those who sign up will receive weekly, ongoing telephone calls from one of our volunteers. During these calls you can share some humor, a good story, compare life experiences, and chat about current events.
Having regular, meaningful conversations can greatly lessen feelings of loneliness and isolation.
If you are interested in enrolling yourself or a loved one to receive calls, please call the COA at 508-230-0690.
