EASTON, MA — The Easton annual town election will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oliver Ames High School after being postponed due to the coronavirus health crisis.

With health concerns remaining strong due to the virus, Easton officials are asking residents not to go to the polls if they are sick or were recently exposed to anyone with a coronavirus infection. In those cases, residents are asked to call 508-230-0530 on election day, or email townclerksoffice@easton.ma.us, for voting options.

Voters are asked to wear a face covering, bring a blue or black pen — a Sharpie or Paper Mate Flair is ideal — since red pens are not read by machines, and pencil and crayon marks cause issues with the tabulation machine.

Residents should bring a clipboard or book on which to mark their ballot if they chose not to use a voting booth. In some cases, identification may also be needed — ID can be a license, as well as a bill or email with the voter's name and address printed on it that matches the voter registration.

Voters are asked not to touch their faces while at the polls, maintain social distancing and to keep the ballot free of water or sanitizer. Sanitizer also could cause trouble with the tabulator.
