Easton Public Works said the five-year project is ready for household connection with permanent paving planned for next month.
EASTON, MA — Easton officials are heralded the five year, $10.5 million Five Corners Sewer District Project that reached substantial completion this month.
There are no planned constriction activities associated with the project at this time, with permanent paving of the affected roads scheduled for mid-September through October.
The largest infrastructure project in Easton's history, the Five Corners Sewer will provide 165,000 gallons of daily treatment capacity to the neighborhood and follows more than five years of planning, design and voter approvals at town meetings.

The Easton Department of Public Works recommends getting as many quotes as possible for the work and to be clear on what is or is not included in the scope of work (restoration of lawns, driveways, walkways, removal of trees, internal plumbing changes, abandonment of septic or cesspool, pumping of the old system, cost of permits, etc.).
Only Licensed Drain Layers (or those applying to be licensed) may apply for a sewer permit. Easton will license contractors who have experience installing municipal sanitary sewer, possess the required insurance, and have posted a $5,000 performance bond.
Properties that need to connect via a low pressure pump should contact a professional engineer to design and stamp the low pressure system.
Permits is available for download from the Public Works Permit webpage. Permits and the associated application fees must be submitted to the respective Departments for approval.
