Easton Police Called After Car Stolen on Test Drive
The following information was provided by the Easton Police Department. Those charged have not been convicted.

Friday, May 31
9:08 a.m.: A driver call the police to report that there were broken glass bottles in the road near the intersection of Lincoln St. and Jonathan Dr. The Department of Public Works was contacted to clean up the class.
9:55 a.m.: A caller reported a suspicious blue truck in cemetary. An officer was dispatched to check it out and found that a private investigator was working in it.

10:18 a.m.: New Bedford Police contacted the Easton Police Department to do a wellness check on an Easton resident after they were contacted regarding some text messages the person had sent. No one was home at the individual's residence, but officers were able to get in touch with a family member, who told them the person was at work. Officers also spoke to neighbors while they were there, but the neighbors said they hadn't seen the person in a few weeks.
5:04 p.m.: The clerk at the White Hen Pantry reported a suspicious male in the area, described as white, 6 feet, wearing white shorts and a white shirt while carrying a purse. Officers spoke to the clerk and searched the area but were unable to find the suspicious party.

7:49 p.m.: A South St. caller reported that someone who had previously assaulted him was driving by his residence repeatedly. Officers went to the home to speak to the caller and checked the area for the vehicle but didn't see it. They advised the caller on what to do if the individual in question returned.

Saturday, June 1
1:59 a.m.: Stonehill College Police arrested Amelio Mitchell of 1235 Mariposa Rd., Carlsbad, CA, and charged him with disorderly conduct. They transported him to the Easton Police Department.
5:58 a.m.: A caller reported seeing a man and woman walking into the Furnace Cemetary with blankets. An officer checked it out and everything seemed fine.
11:21 a.m. A man walked into the Easton Police Department to report an assault on his son by his ex-wife. An emergency 209A (protective order) was filed, and the EPD contacted the Bridgewater Police Department to notify them of the incident.
4:29 p.m.: Target loss prevention contacted Easton Police to report shoplifting in progress. Katie Hay of 9 Norton Glen Apt. 57, Norton, was arrested and charged with shoplifting.
7:59 p.m.: A landlord of a property on Main St. requested an officer walk through with him while he assessed the damage done to the property from a previous tenant. An officer went and walked through the propoerty with the owner and then advised him that further action would be a civil matter.
8:46 p.m.: A caller reported that a car had just been stolen during a test drive at Borderland State Park. Easton Police entered the information into NCIC.
Sunday, June 2
10:52 a.m.: A Cosma Rd. resident reported that earlier in the moring a bat had been outside their front door, but now they were able to contain it in a basket. The animal control officer said they could pick it up the next day, but the homeowner said they may use a private pest control company.
