Easton's Crime Stats from 2012

Easton’s 2012 annual town report is in, and here’s a rundown of some of the stats.

According to the Easton Police, 2012 saw three sexual assaults, five robberies and 17 assault and battery charges.

In property crimes, there were 69 reports of residential break ins and 58 reports of vehicular break ins. There were 16 reports of businesses broke into and 13 reports of attempted break ins.

In thefts, there were 75 reports of felony larcenies, 59 misdemeanor larcenies, eight vehicle thefts (seven of which were recovered) and 28 shoplifting reports.

Easton police made 152 arrests, 10 of which were protective custodies and 29 were impaired driving arrests (OUIs).

According to the Easton Fire Department, there were 64 brush fires in 2012, along with four vehicle fires 77 reports of downed wires. Easton Fire also assisted in 295 motor vehicle collisions.

There were 1,590 ambulance calls, which generated $969,569.79 in revenue for the town.

According to the Ames Free Library, circulation has increased 1.1 percent to 183,891 in 2102. There 12,688 registered borrows and 441 non-subsidized volunteers.
