Easton's Five Corners Construction Project: The Week Ahead
Traffic delays are expected on Foundry Street in Easton this week due to continuing sewer main construction.
EASTON, MA — Traffic delays are expected to continue at Five Corners in Easton, where a new sewer system is being installed. This week, C. Naughton Corp will continue to install gravity sewer main on Foundry Street, between South Street and Gaslight Lane. This will involve areas of significantly deep excavation and large equipment, which may cause frequent traffic stops and delays during construction work hours, public works officials say.
A secondary construction crew will also be installing gravity sewer service to homes on Foundry Street between Robert Drive and Poquanticut Avenue.
The westbound lane of Foundry Street will remain open to through-traffic, but significant delays are anticipated during work hours, according to public works officials. Extended work hours may be in effect during some days.

Drivers are encouraged to use an alternative route to bypass the work zone on Foundry Street. The detour is through Depot Street, Cross Street, Bay Road, Beaver Dam Road and Poquanticut Avenue.
The work is part of the Five Corners Sewer Project Phase II. It includes installing a sanitary sewer collection system with approximately 2,700 linear feet of six-inch force main, 11,100 linear feet of gravity sewer, 850 linear feet of low-pressure sewer, Foundry Street pump station, and 6,000 linear feet of water main replacement for the Mulberry Brook and Beaver Brook stream crossings.
