Five Corners Sewer Work In Easton Scheduled This Week

Work is scheduled to continue along Foundry Street toward the Five Corners intersection.

EASTON, MA — Phase II of the Five Corners Sewer Construction Project was scheduled to include the installation of the gravity sewer main along Foundry Street toward the Five Corners intersection this week, weather permitting. Crews are also scheduled to continue to work between Gaslight Lane and Bay Road, and conduct drain pipe replacement along the south shoulder of Foundry Street west to the New Pond area.

Site maintenance, clean up and trench paving operations are schedule to take place throughout the week. The restoration of disturbed areas along the shoulders of Foundry Street will be ongoing during the upcoming weeks.

While the Foundry Street westbound lane will remain open to through traffic, significant delays are anticipated during working hours. Motorists are encouraged to utilize an alternate route.

Mainline gravity sewer installation is anticipated to be completed on Foundry Street to Bay Road by the middle of December. Drainage work and gravity sewer service installation will also be completed throughout the extent of Foundry Street. It is anticipated that the Foundry Street detour will be deactivated for the winter before the Christmas.

The Five Corners Sewer Construction Project is being funded with help from a $1.5 million grant from the MassWorks Infrastructure Program that was announced on Nov. 15.
