
1. Easton's pickup tennis league is playing tonight. The group will be at the Oliver Ames High School Courts Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5:30-7 p.m. (often later), and will start hosting Saturday morning tennis there after Labor Day. All levels are welcome--we have retirees who haven't picked up a racquet in 16 years, and a recent grad who played Div. 3 competitive college tennis.
2.The Children's Museum in Easton is hosting a free Tie Die Drop in Day today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. These days feature fun and educational events in the Wild Place, the museum's outdoor learning center. The museum is located in The Old Fire Station, 9 Sullivan Ave. in North Easton. Call 508-230-3789 for more information.
3.The Massachusetts Senate approved a bill to allow residents to shop tax free on Aug. 10-11. Now, the bill has to be signed by Governor Deval Patrick.
4. All athletes competing in soccer are required to take the ImPACT concussion baseline test every two years. If you took the test last year, you don't have to take this year. The test will be given Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 3:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 5 p.m. in the computer labs, rooms 102 and 104.
5. The Easton Recreation Children's Races will be held at Fromingtham Park Thursdays until Aug. 22 for ages two to 12 Â at 6 p.m.
