Wrentham's Jake Layman Selected in NBA Draft
Wrentham's Jake Layman was selected by the Orlando Magic in the NBA Draft Thursday then traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Wrentham, MA — Jake Layman, the pride of Wrentham, was selected in the NBA Draft Thursday.
Layman, 22, was selected by the Orlando Magic with the No. 47 pick in the second round. He was then traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Layman played high school basketball at King Philip Regional and went on to star for the University of Maryland. He averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds a game over four years at Maryland.

“Jake is a high character young man with a skill set we value on both ends of the floor,” said Trail Blazers President of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey in a statement. “His ability to defend multiple positions and shoot the ball from range will be positive additions to our roster.”
