The Friends of Easton Public Gardens commissioned seven ice sculptures from Don Chapelle of Brilliant Ice Sculpture. Chapelle is known for his ice sculpture work in the Boston area.
Anyone who takes a tour around Queset Gardens behind Ames Free Library will see beautifully made ice sculptures including an Eiffel Tower sculpture that lights up at night, a snow globe with a bouquet of roses suspended in the ice, a girl chasing a butterfly with a net and more.

“We encourage families to go outside and enjoy nature,” said Karen Rich Cacciapuoti, President of Friends of Easton Public Gardens. “It doesn’t matter if you got two feet of snow on the ground or one inch. Go out and enjoy it.”
The first night to check out the sculptures is on Saturday, Feb. 14.
Ice
On opening night, OA Jazz Band will perform during cocktail hour at Oakes Ames Memorial . Guests can then walk down a lantern-lit path to view the ice sculptures on display in Queset Gardens.
Queset Garden will provide fire pits, propane heaters and hot cocoa to keep the event goers nice and toasty.
Mother nature decides how long these sculptures will stay. “The way this winter’s gone, they may be up for two weeks,” said Cacciapuoti.
While the “Ice” part of the event could last for over a week, the “Fire” part is only for one night and is expected to heat up the town.
Fire
The opening night on Valentine’s Day will feature a huge dance party inside Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, 3 Barrows St. in North Easton.
This year’s party theme is “Après Ski” and those who attend will dress in comfortable and relaxed clothing, such as Uggs and fleece vests. “Anything you’d wear in a ski lodge,” Cacciapuoti added.
Nelson Cruise will provide the entertainment, The Farmer’s Daughter will provide the food and sponsors are providing chocolates and jewelry.
Couples looking for a night out on Valentine’s Day are welcome, but it’s not necessary to bring a date.
“I went stag last year and had a blast,” Cacciapuoti said.
Dinner and drinks will be available for party guests from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
“We were there until 12 last year,” Cacciapuoti said. “No one wanted to leave.”
Last year’s event sold out with only 200 tickets available.
“We’re not sold out yet,” Cacciapuoti said. “Last year we were oversold. We had a wait list.”
Tickets are $65 per person and $120 per couple.
