OA Student's Artwork to Hang in Capitol Building in Washington D.C.
Two OA students' artwork was chosen as winners in the 2013 Congressional Art Competition and were recognized by Congressman Joe Kennedy Thursday.
Two Oliver Ames High School students were recognized for their arstistic abilities by Congressman Joe Kennedy Thursday.
Amanda White and Kristen Wong participated in the 2013 Congressional Art Competition. White's entry “Clearly Enchanting” won Best in Show and Best Drawing. Wong's “Tiny Obsession” won in the Mixed Media category.
For winning Best in Show, White's peice will hang in the Capitol building in Washington D.C. for the next year. Runners up in each category will have their artwork displayed in the Congressman’s district offices.

“I’m proud to honor these remarkable students for their artistic talent,” said Congressman Kennedy. “The selection panel was deeply impressed by the quality of submissions we received from across the district and commend everyone who participated. I look forward to bringing a little piece of the 4th District down to Washington in the coming weeks.”
