Oliver Ames Baseball Wins Davenport Division With Win Over Sharon
The Tigers improved to 12-4 on the season.
The Oliver Ames baseball team put another Davenport Division win under their belt after beating Sharon in a rainy game at Frothingham Park Wednesday.
The division title is their fourth in a row according to head coach Leo Duggan.
“Basically that clinches the Hockomock League, the Davenport Division for us,” Duggan said. “This is the first time in school history we got four in a row.”

The Tigers beat one of the Hockomock's best pitchers in Jake Fishman in the 7-3 win.
“Fishman is probably the best pitcher in the league and the last time he struck out like 11 of us and we looked stupid. Today we just put the ball into play and they made a couple mistakes and we got some big hits finally,” Duggan said.

“He’s got a good pitch and he throws it in the dirt so we tried to stay away from that,” he said. “Then we had that big inning where we kind of put them away and then we chipped around a got a couple more runs.”
With game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the third inning OA scored three runs to take a 4-1 lead in the game and never looked back.
Fishman was outdueled by junior pitcher Chris Servello who improved to 6-0 on the season.
“Give Chris credit he pitched a nice ballgame. We made a couple mistakes defensively, kind of let them in and then Brian Brady came in and got the last four outs,” said Duggan.
OA is now 12-4 on the season with a 12-3 record in league play.
“They’re a good club, they qualified for the tournament,” Duggan said of Sharon. “That was a big win for us.”
